Apologies for the cross-post, but after sharing about a visual debugging tool that I put together I was reminded of this thread and realized it would be a handy place for others to find it, so I'll just drop the link:

I recently discovered the debugDraw capabilities provided by the SDK…and then got a bit carried away. Long story short, I've created Acetate, which extends the base capabilities with a slew of new features and conveniences specifically for debugging sprites.
