MacOS 14.0 Sonoma Failes to unmount

When triying to send game to device from the simulator under MacOS Sonoma, the simulator fails to unmount.

I have had a bunch of issues with USB devices on Sonoma so probably it's a OS bug but wanted to raise the issue because maybe someone knows how to fix it.

Try running Disk Utility disk first aid on the Playdate drive and see if that helps at all. Unmounting issues showed up in macOS 13 and apparently they're still floating around.

Remember when a feature of Mac OS Snow Leopard was that "eject" actually worked reliably? I quietly cheered. Seems like we're overdue for a tune up of "eject" reliability again.

I also see the Playdate fail to unmount sometimes--maybe 1 out of 10 times. I can usually try again or un/replug it into fix.

That fixed it! thanks

Perhaps purely anecdotal but since swapping to a USB-C to USB-C cable I've not had this.

What I do still have is the time for the game to run varying wildly between launches. Sometimes it's instant, sometimes it takes 20 or 30 seconds.

I was using USB-C to USB-C when I had the bug :frowning:

And in general I have the same variation on launches
