I released my 3D survival FPS and first Playdate game on Itch.
BOID FEEDER 9 BILLION is a survival first person auto-shooter for the Playdate inspired by Devil Daggers. Feed a constantly increasing supply of ravenous bird-oids and rack up the largest score possible before you yourself are eaten by the horde. Featuring a silky smooth combo of real 3D and 2.5D prerenders, and extremely satisfying 1-1 crank aiming.
I've been sitting on this for a few months now, coming back to it with additional polish as I saw fit, and now I think its ready for 1.0! The development of this game was pretty complex, as it combines 2.5D and 3D techniques in pretty well optimized C. It runs very well on hardware as a result while allowing for many simultaneous entities that are fully simulated in 3D, as well as 3D polygonal rendering in the floor. Mechanically the game is somewhat simple but very satisfying and pretty tough late game.
