Hi, for the last two updates (2.7.1 and now 2.7.2), my Playdate won't download the update. I see that there is an update available, but once I start the update, the download bar does not progress any further. I managed to resolve this issue for both updates now by entering the recovery mode and then updating to the latest version from the recovery mode.
I was part of the beta and had the beta installed on the device. Not sure if this is related, but maybe this helps pinpointing the issue.
It was probably just a bug in 2.7.0 which has probably been resolved.
I’m not sure about 2.7.2, but the bug wasn’t fixed in 2.70 or 2.7.1. I had the same issue now when I tried to update from 2.7.1 to 2.7.2 
Don't know if this is related but when I try to check for an update on 2.7.2 (For the record there is no 2.7.3 or 2.8.0 yet) It just says its checking forever.
Same situation here, I'm in the beta program as well. I believe I was on a 2.7.0 beta version, then ended up falling back to the recovery firmware to try and fix the issue, but strangely the error still persisted!
Makes me think it could be an issue with the WiFi chip itself.
For me the issues was resolved with 2.7.2, the update to 2.7.3 worked without any issues
I'm also in the beta program and the issue was fixed with 2.7.2 with the upgrade to 2.7.3 working just fine. If it is an issue with the Wi-Fi chip you could probably just try opening catalog.
Yeah, I gave opening Catalog a try but that didn't work either 
I went ahead and sent an email to support yesterday though so hopefully we can figure out a solution
