Goblin Village Released on Catalog!

Proudly made in Pulp, Goblin Village is a cozy, roguelike, unlockathon with runs that last anywhere from 2 to 10 minutes. Choose your leader, and set off to establish your settlement. Manage your resources and food via your 3 daily actions. End your day by paying taxes and feeding your tribe. Taxes go up daily! After this, a random end of day event occurs. The game has over 1,000 events!

Manage your tribe size to increase how much you can gather or earn from multi-day expeditions, but don’t forget, a larger tribe means more food to feed them all! Each leader offers a different bonus, hindrance, or tradeoff that will make each run feel unique. Unlock more leaders, up to 30, in a multi-linear unlock path.

The game features a 21 part story, unlocked as you play. There are 30 items, some with multiple tiers, to enhance your runs. A village you can change the layout of to confer bonuses on your settlements, and a secrets screen and log for special bonuses for your settlement.

The game has a total playtime of 3 to 5 hours. I wanted to go above and beyond in my code in Pulp to make it as modifiable as possible. It was an awesome challenge and it lent itself to this game. I had to learn about code architecture and think far down the line of what I might want added and then make a framework for that early. It resulted in a game that was fairly easy to add new items and new leaders without changing the core gameplay loop, which was satisfying.

A fun bonus to anyone reading this, in the secrets screen you can find codes during your game to get bonuses and upgrades. Use code TWINCITIES, not found in game to get a permanent boost! This is a special thanks for the TwinCities Playtest that the game was a part of back in January. Keep your eyes out for future secrets you might find outside the game for bonuses in the game!

Enjoy!
