Well, I'm facing a bit of a problem, which I've tried to troubleshoot myself and asked Panic for help with. We've come up empty for over a month now, as they say they aren't able to replicate the issue on their end.
Basically, one (and only one) of my game files in Pulp is acting up in browser. I have about half a dozen game files in Pulp, and all the others work fine. But this one (the largest of them) either won't load into browser at all or takes ages. Same issue for playing in-browser, exporting, and downloading. If I am ever able to play in browser, the window often crashes and reloads due to memory issues.
I'm using updated Mac OS. Chrome and Safari. I've tried logging in with other computers and other networks. I've emptied the cache/local storage. Updated my OS. Run virus scans/cleaners. Deleted the file and re-uploaded. I've asked another community member to log into my Playdate account and try (it worked for them, although they said it was slower than when they did the same on their own account, and they are running Windows, which seems curious). I am geographically located in China. Interestingly, I sometimes can get in with my VPN on, but then this usually throttles performance back just as much and I'm left with hung white screens.
Maybe it's something simple. But it's a mystery to me. Any ideas? What might I be missing?
I'm about 90% finished with the game, and I REALLY want to get it done and rolled out.
If I can't figure this out, I'm also asking if there's anyone in the community that might like to help me complete it by working on the game on their end. I know it's a task sorting through others' code (especially mine) but this game might be fun to work on for the right person, and I'd even be willing to compensate you for your. time.
I'd really like to get this game finished!
