This looks so awesome! Is it that fluid on device?
Pretty fluid so far. I've been working on improving the fps over the last few days and now working through preloading the enemies.
Little bit of the pickup mechanics in action. Looks like he's carrying his pet Crank!
- Complete: Player picks up objects with Up
- Complete: If the player has the crank, how does he pull it out? You open your actual crank.
- Complete: Closing the crank makes the player put back the crank.
- Crank will be used to insert into the crankable object that's missing the crank.
- You need to actually crank to open the gate/obstacle/bridge once you assemble/fix the crank object.
Updated animations to have idle and now carrying states.
Cranks can open gates
I didn't show the gate actually opening last time, so here it is!
Itch page is up and teaser!

Submitted my game for Yellow Square Jam! Also happens to be my first Playdate release.

Honored to win the Yellow Square Jam! The tremendous talent was great to see and was fun to play all the submissions!
Just a game concept (no coding yet) of a pirate game that's been in my head. Decided to draw it out a bit to get some of the ideas and concepts out, but this game won't be worked on until next year (2024).
Pirate battle! Currently in the planning phase.
Really looking forward to this!
To add a bit more challenge and to keep things a little more interesting in What the Crow?!, I've now added the concept of gathering feathers to be able to flap and fly higher up. You can't reach the second floor if you don't collect enough feathers. This is taking inspiration from A Short Hike.
Omg dude going through all of these has been such an ADVENTURE. All this work is so so inspiring.
Up and down player animations as well as house sidings added to What the Crow?!
Big people, tiny player! I like it.
Leveraging the pause image to show some light instructions.
Also, tinkering with an ePaper display and loaded up a fun image of the crow riding a cat. A game mechanics idea that hasn't made it in yet.
Just tinkering around with a different stage idea.
