I've been working on a fully fledged game for about a year and a half and I've only got 20% left
Then two things happened:
A) I bought a Pocket Operator as a birthday present to myself.
B) The Pocket Operator had a birthday of its own. Turned 10 and Teenage Engineering had this DIY contest. #PO10DIY I decided to create a PO tool for the PD, and application that allows you to controll the tempo of the beat by using presets or the Crank (of course)
So here it is in all its glory: Syncopath PRO Synkopath by WuWave
And even though you need a Pocket Operator the get the most out of it, I find it kind of fun just to play around with the beet blipp.
This sounds awesome and a gateway to even more cool functionality between PO and PD if i'm understanding things correctly. But how exactly do i use it with my PO?
I am not the author but I have a playdate and two pocket operators.
Here is TEβs guide to one of the pocket operators.
From section 8
it is possible to sync
multiple pocket operators with a click track using line in and out.
warning: sync levels should not exceed 5Vpp (volt peak-to-peak).
connect a standard stereo audio cable between the units. the master unit will control the tempo of the sync unit
So this app is probably generating a click track on the Playdate to send to one or more pocket operators.
Yes, it plays a click sound and then you plug the audio out from the Playdate into the audio in of a PO. You can chain multiple POs after one another and have them all in sync.
I heartilly recommend using the Playdate app called PDFXR alongside the PO33 (which is the sampler PO) I make some nice custom sounds on the Playdate and sample them on the Playdate to create tracks. It's a ton of fun.
I wanted to make the ULTIMATE backup app for PO on the Playdate as well, but hardware limitations put an end to that. Might do a sample trimmer in the future.
