Mysteroids – Devlog #1

This is my first game for Playdate. I've dabbled in Love2D, but this is the first serious game I want to release. I've been a backend developer for 10 years, who knows, maybe this is the start of a career change.

Ideias:

Asteroides But with gameplay changes to bring more twists. So we'll have 3 ships with distinct gameplay, a special bar activated by the crank. More enemy types and a boss that evolves as you increase your score.

Implemented:

  • Basic gameplay loop: move, shoot, defeat enemies, and die.
  • Collision with players, monsters, and shooting.
  • Blink and temporary invincibility

Problems:

  • Find the sweet spot for enemy speed and each ship's configuration.

  • Implement enemy spawning based on

Help needed

If a good pixel art artist is available, I'd like to create the art for the game menu before starting gameplay. It shouldn't be too expensive because I'm a Brazilian developer, so you know how high the dollar is here :cry:
