Hi all, thought I'd share the game I've been working on for a few months now as my first Playdate game.
This is Brendan Keogh's Putting Land, which is effectively a reimagining of a game I released on Steam early last year, Brendan Keogh's Putting Challenge. The 'Land' name is sort of a homage to all the old Gameboy ports of SNES titles, like Super Mario Land or Donkey Kong Land.
The gist is: it's an open world golf game with all the boring bits left in. So you need to walk around the whole world, you don't just teleport to the ball after you hit it. It's pretty tedious, but in a kinda funny and actually sort of relaxing way.
Got most of the key mechanics in there and have started working on UI. Haven't done any audio at all yet so I should figure that out sometime soon. I've even implemented a very silly control option where you can use the crank as a tiny golf club.
Pretty happy with my 1-bit pixel art! That's been a fun new thing to learn.
