Platformer: A pick up and play platformer with some added crankin'

Hi Everyone,

Just finished my first Playdate game and wanted to announce it.

'Platformer' - A highly original name but does what it says on the tin. It's a 25 level, play at your own pace platformer, which means all the levels are available and you play in any order and try and achieve stars for collecting all the coins, beating the par time and getting to the exit without dying.

I've released on Itch and submitted to the catalog as well to see if it's interesting enough.

Use the crank to bring the platforms to you for a change

I had a lot of fun making this and it's the first game project I've done completely on my own. Really enjoy the development environment Panic has created, made the whole process super fast, this was developed (using pure lua) in only about 8 weeks total.

Have fun.
Thanks

Hi! This is a super tight, fun and technically sharp game! I have almost thrown my Playdate across the room at times.....this is good sign.....only Mario does that normally :). Love it and will review it soon over at the modest hobby channel Playdate Player on YouTube. It's not IGN but it reaches a few folk who love the PD as much as I do

Hi Floyd, Thanks for the kind words, super happy you're enjoying it. I put of lot of effort into the feel and wanted something a little old school but with the Playdate twist with using the crank to move the platforms to make your way around.

Hope it wasn't too frustrating - I can tell you it was even tough for me doing the testing for a zero deaths run on some of the levels

Please let me know if you do a video and I'll be happy to link it on the itch page.

Thanks again.

Just got the news that Platformer got approved for the Catalog. No dates yet but I'll post here when I know.

Hopefully this will give people who prefer not to sideload a chance to play.

Really cool and super excited to see how it all works.
