Steel Sky (prototype)

I'm starting another game.
Luftrausers as inspiration. Here is the prototype.

Some technical info. The ships/planes are customizable 3d objects. This will make for unlimited ship design.

Gameplay (planned)

  • One life, multiple stages (like Roguelike)
  • Each stage will be a mission (destroy planes, or ships)
  • Upgrade ship after each stage.
  • Stages become increasingly difficult - becoming like a bullet hell game

Really cool! Love the feeling of the controls. Is this being made in Lua or C? The framerate on device (Rev A) goes down significantly when there are multiple enemies on the screen.

Would love to see the crank as an option for one of the controls. Alternate gun, perhaps? Or steering?

The game is in C. The planes are actually lowpoly 3d object. 46 points, 32 triangles. I probably need to do some LOD or lower the poly count still.
Crank -- yes, some other weapon or maybe for some flight maneuver.

keep the 3d format but use 2d images in game - that would really boost framerate !
