Video capture with the Playdate Simulator

I was wondering if it were possible to set up something like Mirror's video capture feature but, to work with the Playdate Simulator? I think it would definitely be convenient for people. I've run into a few instances where I wanted to record something quick and needed to go find my USB->USB-C adapter just to plug in my Playdate.

It would also allow people who may not yet own a Playdate to have more flexibility in showcasing their game/app, etc. It would also negate the need for people to use an external screen recording app as well.

I have no idea this type of feature is feasible but, I thought I'd at least mention it. :playdate_happy:

Well, it already has gif capture, so presumably it wouldn’t be a massive thing to make it capture audio too.

You could also do it yourself - just use audacity to record the audio, then merge the sound and video (gif) tracks in a video editor

I somehow forgot that it has a gif capture feature :playdate_cry_laugh: Would be really helpful to have a native video capture feature built-in though :thinking: In the meantime, your workaround will work. Thanks! :+1:
