Zest: a Pulp to Web converter

Hi everyone!

I've shared this project in a few places already, but since it's pretty stable and not in active development anymore, I wanted to create a post for it here as well

The tl;dr of Zest is that it helps developers run their Pulp games in the browser. It also comes with a simple tool that essentially lets you bundle your data.json into a standalone HTML file, which you can then share (or embed) easily.

Check out the bundler here: :lemon: https://zest.cool
or have a look at this example: Paco & Lily demo (web)

Note that this tool is meant for developers only, as it requires your Pulp source and does not run PDX files. I'd say the runtime is accurate in 99% of cases now, but if you do some obscure (and undocumented) shenanigans in PulpScript, some things might break. Do give me a shout if that happens; I'd love to improve the compatibility further!

:playdate_heart: The JavaScript runtime that powers Zest is Open Source (MIT) and completely free of GenAI: https://github.com/tkers/zest

This is really cool. I assume this works if you embed it into an itchio page as a html5 game.

Yep, works perfectly with itch! (and autoscales to fit the frame wherever you embed it)
