Claydate – A Relaxing Pottery Studio

Hey everyone! :waving_hand:

I just released my first ever game for the Playdate - Claydate! :amphora::yellow_heart:

I started working on it while my Playdate was still on the way, and I set myself a little challenge: “By the time it arrives, the core gameplay should be done.”
Now, just two weeks after unboxing my Playdate, I’m so happy to say the game is fully released!

Claydate is a cozy sandbox pottery game where you can shape, smooth, and sculpt your own creations in a warm, peaceful pottery studio, a space where creativity comes first.

If you’re up for a gentle challenge, you can test your skills in a quest mode that generates unique vases to match. Or just relax, spin the crank, and let the clay take shape however you like. :sparkles:

:video_game: Play it here:

I’ve also submitted Claydate to the Playdate Catalog, so hopefully it’ll make its way there soon!

If you give it a try, I’d love to hear your thoughts on the controls, mechanics, and overall feel.

Thanks so much for checking it out! :yellow_heart:

Sort of a bug (and this is just nitpicking really), there’s a stutter in the transition animation at the beginning of the game.
Secondly, this is more of a suggestion and you don’t have to take it, but instead of having a point that you can expand, why not make it like a bezier curve? It would look prettier and you don’t have to be so accurate. I think it will also have a better game feel and make it more fun.
