Mirror doesn't open (Windows)

Recently, I've been unable to get Mirror to open on my Windows machine. As in: it doesn't launch or crash or anything, just... nothing happens when you click the icon.

The executable includes a number of dependency DLLs, and when I move those, I get a warning dialogue box about it, so the application does do something before silently closing before displaying a window, but I can't figure out how to troubleshoot it.

Uninstalling/reinstalling has no effect. Deleting its User/AppData folder doesn't do anything, either (it recreates the folder on attempted launch but nothing is added to it).

Oddly, this extends to all versions of Mirror. I have an old copy of Mirror 1.0 and the same thing happens (or rather, doesn't). So it's likely that there's something about my system config that is causing this, like a registry setting or an errant driver or missing shared DLL or something, but no other application has demonstrated this problem.

Has this happened to anyone else? What, if anything, can I do to diagnose the issue?

Hilariously, my current workaround is to run a WSL instance and run the Linux version of Mirror from there (see image).

Try re-installing the Microsoft C++ runtime. You can find it here: Latest supported Visual C++ Redistributable downloads | Microsoft Learn

That was it!

I had checked if I had the latest version of that, but it never occurred to me to re-install it. I should have known better.

Big thanks!
