I would love to get my hands on a PlayDate game console, so I went to the website to order one.
However, for me the shipping cost is an exorbitant $ 50,34 !
That sure seems like alot of money for such a small device that weighs almost nothing.
Is there any way to reduce this to a more reasonable price?

I agree. It's incredibly expensive to get it to Europe. I wanted to get the cover (as I didn't buy it when I bought my playdate) and it costs me more to ship it than the actual cover.
in my opinion, just pay. i had to pay about 175 us dollars for shipping

Ah so it's not a new issue then, I just posted on Reddit about this, as I was intending to buy the just released Yellow cover, I originally bought the console + the purple cover, then the last year bought the aqua and the pizza covers and the shipping, I don't remember it being so expensive, but now I wanted to buy just the Yellow cover, which weighs nothing, shipped to Spain and it's 34 bucks the cover plus 20 bucks shipping plus 10 bucks taxes, it almost doubles its price!
I am quite concerned, sincerely I don't remember shipping costs being so expensive for the other products I bought...
Hey, i’ve heard about this console yesterday on the minnmax show, instantly fell in love with the project and made me want to make a game on it.
I live in France and this is my shipping prices (+ taxes + tarrifs), this is very rough…
I guess Americans are the only ones that can enjoy this amazing machine and amazing covers. I’m in Canada and it’s still prohibitively expensive although I’m close to the American border.
