This is my first game for the playdate. I have been working on this part-time for a few months and think that it is ready for a public beta. It is a puzzle - platformer that I think is fairly unique.
Use the crank to create clones of yourself to make your way out of the level.
Things that I am looking for:
Any Bugs to fix
Opinions on levels; (too difficult, too annoying, too confusing)
Times / Rewind times / Clones for 1,2,3 stars per level.
I like the clone concept but I just seem very bad at it, this is a game that I would be interested in watching someone else play
It seems that how much I crank decides how far back in time the clone will be created, and from there I need to plan the movements of multiple avatars in parallel, with a time offset between them. The simultaneous movement bit is difficult, I couldn't complete the tutorial (stuck in the stage with two doors and a breakable hazard).
I remember another game where you cooperate with clones of yourself called "Finger*10"[1] which was originally called "Cursor*10"[2]. It's a much easier game since the movements of each clone are controlled separately.
Thanks for trying it out.
I've checked out Finger*10 and I like it. The clones in this game can interact with the player and each other which can lead to them changing where they go.
In that tutorial level you'll need to make a second clone to push the second button. I could add a sign post to the level to suggest using a second clone. Or was there some other issue with that tutorial level?
The instructions are clear and I know what I need to do, I just can't time the clone creation properly to pass it. I found the game frustrating but I am not a particularly skilled gamer, so hopefully you get other opinions on the difficulty level.
If that's your first game then we'll done! It looks pretty good already and has a very interesting concept.
I really enjoy how you can kinda interact with the clones and plan fun different ways to finish the levels. Fun strategizing how the clones would move depending on the obstacles that were not there before (like yourself ).
Can't wait for the full release!
One thing I would change is that it's not indicated when the game goes from the tutorial to actual game.
I'll be posting more as well as my times to give you some indication in the replies to this message.
Good job and good luck on the rest of the development process!
